A Potential New Housing Development In MacGregor

Recently, I together with other members of the MacGregor Chamber of Commerce, were guided by Don Butterfield of Hampton Developments Ltd. on a tour of a potentially new housing development in MacGregor. The area is being developed by local businessman and all-around asset to the community, Gordon MacDonald.

If approved, the lots of the new development will be of various sizes. In the pictures below you can see stakes in the ground that mark some of them off. The development will be in two main sections with a road connecting them. The South lot of the development nestles up against the north side of the MacGregor EMC property, providing quick access to both the church as well as potentially its greenspace and soccer pitch. The North section will be connected to the MacGregor service road and will have a beautiful view of the field. Over a thousand trees have been planted to give the new development both greenery as well as privacy.

The current status of the development is that it is with the Province waiting for approval, a process that has been very slow given the pandemic. If it is approved, sixty four new homes will be added to our community.

While I am by no means a landscape photographer (or a photographer of any kind, for that matter), I have included some pictures I took on the tour below to give an idea of scope. On a personal note, I can honestly say that walking through the new development filled me with excitement for all that this new development could bring to MacGregor. I hope you enjoy.
